The Harbinger is a story that follows Monique as she leaves her family lockdown, putting herself and her family at risk, to help an old friend. Upon learning of the supernatural nature of the problem, and that it has somehow spread to herself causing her own terrifying nightmares, she wants to enlist doctors. This is rejected out of hand, and turning to internet message boards seems to be the next logical solution.
